Sanitary shut off valves for hygiene-sensitive operations


Single-seat shut off valves are also known as shutdown or cut off valves. Hygiene is one of the most crucial aspects since they are often found in the plants of food industries, in the chemical industry, in biotechnology and in pharmaceuticals. That’s why we engineer the Rieger valves perfectly to meet this demand. The valve bodies of our sanitary shut off valves are compact, dead space-free as well as pocket-free. On top of that, the used o-rings within the body possess a unique groove. Thanks to this thought-out design and the use of stainless steel, our customers enjoy several benefits: the risk of trapping the product can be avoided, simple cleanability is made possible, and a sterile process is guaranteed. The PTFE bellows of our aseptic shut off valves seal the product hermetically to further prevent contamination.

Shut off valves: Safety and adaptability at all time

Our shut off valves are constructed for efficiency and safety. We designed the product line with particular attention to the ideal flow conditions of liquids (like water) or gas. In addition, operations can continue with temperatures up to 130 °C (266 °F). Steam sterilization is realizable with a maximum of 150 °C (302 °F) for up to 20 minutes. Different temperatures apply for our aseptic shut off valves.

The shut off valves are available in several different body configurations: right angle type L, double right angle type T, cross type TT, and tangential type (horizontal). Installation is possible in a variety of angles and positions. The pneumatic actuator can be ordered as “air to open/spring to close”, “spring to open/air to close” or “air/air”. By request, we even customize the port configurations to make them fit seamlessly into your pipe system.
